I Have Designs On You is a creative event that aims to raise design awareness in Singapore. This event is presented by the graduates of the SIM-RMIT Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) course.
Held at Old School from the 7th to 11th of July '09, look out for a non-traditional exhibition that explores the most current issues in design today. In addition, expect talks and workshops by luminaries in the design industry.
In this exhibition my partner and I settled up a booth on Numbers. Our challenge is to come out with a topic that is 'Logic vs Emotions".

s01/ Handbook For Motorcycle Enthusiast
Description
BIKE Culture, BIKE Fashion and BIKE Machine is a series of books that helps female who are enthusiastic about motorcycle to know everything that needed.
The book size is 8 by 7 inches and it’s in a soft cover form. The content will consist mainly be images. With some text and side notes to explain the image.
Grungy effect is use as people usually related motorbikes a s something rugged, tough and underground.
Overall color scheme is red as red symbolize quite a few meaning. It could meant danger, stop, warning, importance. In Chinese belief that red color bring good luck, celebrations.
s02/ Art History Journal
Description
A parcel mailed to an art museum containing an art journal dated in the
1886 by an art enthusiast, Lee Miller.
The journal which was later pass on to his granddaughter, Jo Miller who
shared the same passion for art as her grandfather. The journal contains
personal insights of events that had happened during the time.
An old sketching paper is used. The paper was dabbed with lipton tea and
Chinese tea to obtain the moldy effect. Paper clips was soak in lime water
to achieve the rusty effect.
In the journal, you see 2 distinctive handwriting. The old curve fountain pen
handwriting which was the words of the grandfather, Lee Miller and the
solid blue ball point pen was the words of the granddaughter, Jo Miller.
s03/ The Future of Luxury
Description
Different people have different definition of luxury.
For me, luxury doesn't necessarily mean expensive or branded. It could be a products or services that indulge someone, and pleases their senses.

Description
A series of postcard created to document down my study trip in Melbourne.
Written at the back of those postcards are though I have that are related to the images.
These postcard together with other items I collected in Melbourne are place into a white box. Lines drawing are drawn on the box.
s05/ DESIGN: THE WAY I INTERPRETED
Description
A light hearted book that explain how design has been use to create
awareness and impact to the public on issues we are facing today.
San-serif Gill San designed by Eric Gill is use for its high readability.
A colorful scheme is adopted instead of the usual number pagination. Each color is used to represent a section and it’s issue.
I opt for wire binding as I feel it suite the theme better. Also wire bind allow reader to open the book widely so that the content can be view clearly.
s06/ Antalis Money Packet 2009
Description
A series of Chinese festive collaterals inspired by Chinese calligraphy.
In my design, the Chinese character “牛” and an illustrated cow is used to represent the year.
Red color is used for the background as red for Chinese represent auspicious. Gold glitter is scattered into the background to symbolize money.
The style of my cow illustration is cute and modern.
Simple line work is used.
s07/ Greenpeace Design Award 2009
Description
A series of collateral created for the Greenpeace competition.
The design is to be printed on recycle paper. A balancer form from words is used to shows how paper wastage affects the trees population.
Gray tone. Minimum color is used. No other colors are being used because some colors, often reds and metallic contain heavy metals such as zinc, copper, and barium which will cause damage to the environment.
Color is to be printed be soy-based inks, with less than 2% of petroleum.
This is to reduce the amount of VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) that is being release into the air.
s08/ The Commute Time
Description
People all around the world communicate.
Communication comes in different forms. It could be through the languages we speak, our body language or signage. It could also be design elements created to convey message to the masses.
Communicating to the dead is a practice that Chinese had done for centuries. During festival, they will burn joss stick before a shrine or an ancestor tablets as a form of worship. This is the way how Chinese communicates with the spiritual world. They could also invite a medium; usually call “Tang Ti” to help them “connect” to the dead.

f01/ Art Auction Poster
Description
A series of poster designed for an art auction event hosted by Art Talks.
A website build using OSCommerce platform. Black and white was the color the client requested. Flower motif were use at the top to bring out the feminine feel.
A shopping cart site build on OSCommerce PHP platform. Much modification is made thus this is a pretty tedious projects. However I do enjoy doing as I get to gain new knowledge while doing it.
A static HTML site. I learn quite a lot while doing this website. Eg: The drop down menu is created using mootools, there an online order form where you can upload photos and it send to the client’s mailbox with a few validations in Javascript.
Le Precious is an online one-stop resource for your baby’s full month celebration. The do provide free delivery at flexible timing.

Description
An online fashion store. Clean, simple lines had always been mine style. Pink is use to add vibrant to the website and also to capture attention.
An online shop build using OSCommerce. Simple and straight forward. Blue was their corporate color. Additional feature was added, an example was the news module
An online shopping cart site build using the OSCommerce platform. This is one of the many project I had done while I’m with my previous employee. This site is highly customized to the extend that I am so surprise I could actually achieve this. Not forgetting to thanks by boss for the helps and guidance he provided me.
I’m extremely proud of this work as I had gain a lot of knowledge.
